Why Kuksas? Kuksa Availability, and why I carve.

I’m releasing my kuksas to the wild! .. and this one already got away.

It’s the first time in a long time I’ve had my handcraft available.
There was a period in my life I didn’t think I’d be able to carve again. As an artist, not being able to make and use your hands is life changing. Much like Poseidon or Apollo having their powers stripped, stolen- and then gifted back. I am humbled and grateful to be able to share it with the world again.

Everything I carve has my soul. I’ve spent over a decade kindling a new culture in craft. Bringing people together in simple lifestyle throughout homes around the globe.

Sipping from a kuksa is an experience. Inviting stillness and an opportunity to slow in this fast paced world. Rich in tradition they truly are the ultimate vessel. Vessels, like boats, carry more than just things. They carry spirit, they carry feeling, they carry stories to pass around the fire. Absorbing the drinks and the environment as you do; ever-changing into an era of darkened patina. When you’ve finished and they’re empty, you can’t seem to put them down. At night, often falling asleep clutched in hand; drifting away on kuksa dreams.

What you’re getting from me when ordering a cup is my life’s work, my heritage, a piece of my soul in a story. I think about this when people drink from my kuksas. Through my carvings and teachings these aren’t just simple little cups you throw in the cupboard when you’re done.

These are generational.

Drinking from one of my kuksas teleports us together in time. Around a common fire, at home amongst family and friends, alone together on a hillside telling tales. Forever binding us in the pages of my story. Of our story-
