What's Your Story?

Water heater is still out but today I have a one on one kuksa course which will be a great time. Here is my old faithful kuksa next to one of my newest that has dried and passed my stress tests. Both the same timber - white birch - betula papyrifera. 

Look how graceful and rich they grow with age. This is something other materials just can't achieve. Also when I walk into someone's home I can see which items are well loved. It makes other mediums seem sterile in nature. 

A carving is like a song or a story. Each person will read and perceive their own story within that one which I find beautiful. The next time you look at a carving, ask yourself.. what is your story?
